Linux on Ps3

    Has anyone installed Linux or other operating systems on their Ps3?

    if so is it easy enough to do & dose it cause any problems?

    I used to have it installed on my 60GB.
    Everything worked well - and was pretty good to use once you paired up a keyboard and mouse.
    But I used it less and less over time, using my PC or netbook when I wanted a proper fix.
    Find it more interesting getting the controllers working with standard linux on PC :)

    ALSO - new slims won't run linux either. so linux on PS3s is definitely on the way out.

    I have the old 80 gig, don't use it for games any more - just divx movies etc.
    so I was thinking of putting Linux on it and use it like a pc, surfing the web etc.

    dose the ps3 run any other operating system? that may be better than Linux

    Nope - Linux only, and not just any. You'll have to find specially compiled ones for PS3 like yellowdog.
