Hi just wondering if anyone has lots of experience selling on E bay? In laws moved house recently to a much smaller house and they have so much stuff they can sell. Father in law has been buying high end cameras and sound systems for 30 years and there's no end of them around the place! Any tips on getting set up, what to look out for, how to check out p+p costs etc? Thanks!

There's no magic wand to selling on eBay...sign up and try checking their listings for similar items. Before you start selling you need to build up a bit of positive feedback by doing some buying, that way sellers will have some confidence in buying from you. An Post will supply all the info you need on posting and with high value items such as cameras be sure to insist on registered mail only. :)

    Hi franj,

Best of luck with the selling.
Firstly buy loads of really cheap items to get your feedback up.
When you are listing items make sure to be a descriptive as possible.
Remember to add lots of pictures. Buyers like pictures :)
I use TinyPic for hosting mine.

Always use registered post. For postage I use GLS. They are prity good and cheaper than An Post. Plus they don't steal lose things!
You can see their prices here
And you can find the nearest one to you by searching here

When you are creating your listing it is also better to use a template to make it look better.
You can find free ebay templates here

When you sell on eBay you have three fees.

Ebay listing fee & final selling fee (more info here)
    and Paypal Fee details here

Any other questions just ask, oh and when you have setup your listing add a link to it here on your sig. Just don't go trying to catch out any scammers ;)
