Looks like it is going to be a lovely weekend, I was thinking of a ~125km jaunt leaving Dundrum at 9:30. Sandwich in Laragh.

Moderate pace for me as I am still a bit ill, I will be watching my heart rate.

Always advisable to bring lights this time of year.

I might be up for this one!

    Any idea of a route?

Hi Leftism, I was thinking something like this.

I'm later in tonight than I expected, am thinking of leaving around 10am now.

Not a lot of love for a Saturday spin around here!

Would be up for similar tomorrow if anyone is interested? Thinking 10:00 from Dundrum. I am not well enough to be racing.

Is there an Orwell spin tomorrow from Dundrum too ? I was assuming there would be, but maybe they're all going racing ? I'll be going out anyway, either with Orwell or Blorg or on me todd. 9.30 or 10 would be ok.

Sounds good, see you there.Am still recovering from a cracked rib so won't be on for anything major.

There is no "official" Orwell spin tomorrow due to the club league race but there is I think a general gathering at 9:30.

I'm easy either way, happy to turn up 9:30 and see who is there?

Want to take it easy but lunch in Laragh would be nice.

OK, it is 9:30 now we will see if there are Orwell compatriots going out at the same time.

I'll head down for 9.30 and see what's going on.

Nice spin, went out as far as Ashford with Orwell and then emty, LastGasp, TaxMan and myself headed up the Devil's Glen to Laragh, Sally Gap and home. 110km, finally seem to be feeling a bit better on the bike.

    How did it pan out?

Well for me the day started out great. Nice to get out with the Orwell guys and ride in a bunch doing up and overs,it's been many a year since I did that.
Then I left the comfort of the bunch and went on a pain fest with the others. Popped my Devils Glen cherry today, horrid climb which couldn't end soon enough for me. Spot of lunch in the hippie cafe and then suffered all the way home after my knee screamed enough.

    103k door to door.

That's usually my line after a spin like today. I'd like to think we dragged each other home from Laragh.;)

@Lastgasp I'll make that call tomorrow.

Good spin today, thanks all for the company. I must go out with a collection of crocks more often. It makes a nice change to be waiting for people instead of getting left behind ! Felt good today - new position on the bike (shorter stem, higher saddle, wider bars) seemed to be working well.

Ye were lucky to get out. It never thawed properly here and the roads were lethal in places. Am still very weary after a crash a few weeks ago( road rash still not healed on hip) So it was off to the woods with the dogs on the mtb.Had a wobble in the car going out at 2pm. I need one more 100km to get 50 metric cent this year, shame to miss out on a great day

It was grand up the mountains in Wicklow, didn't get cold enough to freeze I don't think.

I have a patch of road rash from the Surf n Turf 300 in August which is still bright red, I can only imagine that is permanent at this stage. It got infected :(

I suppose it is like a bad burn so scar is a probability

I still have a nice open patch about 4cm dia.

It was cold here even the tourloughs had a thin layer of ice on them, cars had refrozen windows by 5,30pm

Did you go southbound on the Old Bray Road. On my way to work I passed a group of Orwell just north of Bray.

Yes, that were us. about 10am. We joined the N11 south of Shankill and went up through Bray and on to Ashford on the coast road.

Funny, I had been reading this one and saw the distinctive Orwell kit. Kepot an eye out for Boards jerseys but tyou were going so fast you were just a blur to me:D

I did give the obligatory cyclist wave to the group though

We need a new, subtle way, of indentifying un-disclosed boardsies.

I mistakenly assumed a chap talking animatedly with blorg was a lurker. From the the blank and slightly alarmed look when I asked was he on boards, I might as well have asked if he gave good reach-around.

410 decal group buy. And no, I'm not volunteering to organise it. :)

You suggested it first, you have to do it now.

With great power comes great responsibility. :pac:
