So Ned is on the radio, basically calls JHR a liar, says there was absolutely no deal on Kenmare Hospital and JHR is full of it, it wasnt even discussed.......
Then MHR comes on, tells Ned he should listen to his own leaders speech
Then we hear an portion of Cowens speech on Capital Expenditure for 2010....and sure enough.....Kenmare Hospital....

So who is Ned calling a liar....JHR or His own party leader now???

They are all liars. Really sick of gombeen politics in this country. TD's working as if they are local councillors. We really need to grow up in this country!

Jackie was elected by the people of South Kerry to serve the people of South Kerry and his influnce in secureing a new Hospital for Kenmare was of paramount importance! Without Jackie there would be NO hospital

and without Bertie looking after his local folks there would have been no free reign for the developers... ;)

Maybe we should try to get our politicans to look at the bigger picture. If we need a hospital in south Kerry then it should be part of a bigger health care strategy. When individual politicians are given the power to individually shape countrywide strategy for their own benefit then you end up with the sh1t we are currently in.

And here lies the problem. Our TDs are elected to run THE COUNTRY not South Kerry or West Dublin or any other locality.

Next time your TD comes looking for votes, ask them what they are going to do for IRELAND. Maybe then we won't be in the mess where national officials are too busy sorting out local issues to actually spend time on the bigger picture.

Truly a triumvarate of muppets. Healy Rae and his gombeen offspring with their myopic vision of the Kingdom of Kerry; the 'renegade' O'Keefe who could talk himself in and out of the any argument, and of course our leader who was never elected to lead the country and who steadfastly refuses to seek a mandate from the electorate.

Unfortunately, as Dessie O'Malley recently put it; we're only capable of electing a projection of ourselves as a nation to govern us. We're incapable of marching or demonstrating simply because we elected these idiots. We elect these sliabheens because we know that they will let us get away with most things and be the disgusting, lazy, moronic twats that the general populace are. We wouldn't dare elect someone who would tell us that we can't do the things we do; and therein lies the failure of modern democracy: left to our own devices the election process becomes the lowest common denominator wins all and those with ideas and vision are derided and marginalised.

What is truly sad is that the political landscape is bereft of an alternative leadership with sufficient backbone to stand up to the banks, the church, the public service, and the people. The current world order is no different - look at our english neighbours embarking on the first general election since the collapse of the world economy; still the same old political parties with the same old rhetoric whose fiscal policies contributed to the dire mess we are all experiencing. Where's the new parties with the new ideas??

our leader was not elected by the people to lead
but jackie healy rae was elected by the people of kerry to represent kerry and its people, he said he would when he asked for their vote, and he kept his word, so fair play to him
did every other minister keep his word

Bersouth, kindly don't drag up half-threads that haven't been contributed to in months unless there's a really good reason for doing so.
