    http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/2009/12/11/336076/787-first-flight-window-on-15-december.html
Boeing's 787 Dreamliner's first flight window is set to open on 15 December at 10:00 local time at Paine Field in Everett, Washington.
"With high-speed taxi testing scheduled in the coming days, we're on track for first flight soon thereafter," says Boeing.
This follows the completion of static testing of the side-of-body modification, it adds.
The first flight window opening is dependent upon final internal reviews, taxi test and receipt of the final experimental ticket from the US Federal Aviation Administration, says Boeing.

Flight window opens on the 15th...
anyone want to go to Seattle?

Looking forward to hearing it actually. The jagged edges on the engines cowling are meant to reduce noise, but I wonder if it will make a different noise to other similar sized jets?

Just a update Boeing have attached to their web site that the first flight will take place on the 15th (December) at 6pm Irish time.
They will have a dedicated site for the first flight up 24hours before it lifts off, I assume that it will be like the recent A400M first flight with live video.

High speed taxi tests were completed on saturday with the aircraft reaching 130knots and the pilots lifted the nose gear off the runway

That website is ridiculous. Eventually had to watch it on Youtube. Anyway nice to see a maiden flight, I love the amount of dihedral on the wings, very unusual looking.

I've never seen that much wingflex on landing, it really did look bird-like!

Any ideas if Ryanair are going to invest (or have they invested)? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I know that Ryanair's current fleet is entirely 737-800s.

no planes ordered by ryanair yet and with 840 787 orders the line is about 7 years long
