Does anyone sell Dell Laptop chargers (apart from Dell)

I need a new charger for my Dell Laptop. It only works as a power supply, its not charging my battery (damaged cord, leading to laptop not recognising it as a genuine Dell part).

I need to get a new one ASAP, and I suspect it has got to be a genuine part.

Obviously I can buy this online, but would be waiting for it to come. Is there anywhere Dublin City Centre who sell these?

Usually if it's powering the laptop, the charger is fine.

What type of laptop, as they all have varying charger connections.

Maplins and the like sell universal power adaptors kits.

I'm fairly sure maplin sell genuine Dell laptop power supplys. Near Jervis Street and I think blanchardstown.

Also the reason it doesn't charge is because of a chip in the brick has died/burnt out. Mines the same keeps popping up, genuine dell psu not detected etc. Basically dell cutting corners.

I'm afraid you are misinformed, many Dell models use specific chargers, so that when you use a universal charger, it will power the laptop but not charge the battery. Many local computer shops stock chargers which will work properly with these models, they are a few bob more than the normal ones, should be around €70-80.
Its not helpful to be spouting rubbish on the forum - if your not sure, it's better not to post.
