Coming up to the Dublin marathon even before that my knee right in the front of it felt sore, but i plough on.

Been off running for 3-4 weeks due to flu etc so started again last sat doing 5 miles, swim on monday and 5 miles on tuesday.

Today knee is sore again in the front, any ideas what it is or good exercises.

If not better by start of Jan i be going to physio.

Why wait? You've had this problem for a couple of months already. There's no reason to think it will clear up on its own in a few weeks.

    Hi there,

You would need to be a little more specific re your injury for anyone to offer advice or views? 'At the front of it' could be anywhere. It could be a range of different things. It may not even be your knee it could be the tendon that connects your patella(on your knee) to your upper shin.

You should ask someone to diagnose what you have, you will get it sorted quicker that way.;)

My knee gave me a small bit of trouble after I had reconstrucive surgery on my ACL and it wasn't until i built up the muscle in the quad and hamstring region that it became almost 100% again. Squats and Deadlifts (performed correctly) are genuinely excellent for this
