Dante's Inferno demo on US PSN 10th December

The US PSN always updates after 10pm from what I can see.

Its usually between 9pm and midnight here that the US PSN gets its update. I say about 1 in 4 chance we get it on the Euro PSN, they dont add demos sometimes if our update preceeds the USA one.

With Bayonetta and GoWIII out at around the same time this game is going to have to be something special to pull people in. So far, from the gameplay videos, I'm seeing an average third person slasher.

Played it last night. Features what is probably a cut down version of the intro and pre-hell stages.
To the point they let you play in the demo its a god of war clone and i do mean clone. Everything about it is virtually identical to GOW. Not that its a bad thing.

720p graphics aren't likely to blow anyone away, but it bobs along at ~60fps with no noticeable issues.

Depending on the way the final game plays, it will probably be worth a look but unless something goes very wrong, GOW3 will overshadow it.

In terms of combat and controls it's definately a GoW clone, but like it was already said it's not a bad thing. All in all i really enjoyed the demo and will defo pick up the full version. It's coming out a month before GoW 3 (and a month after Bayonetta, which is a completely different game gameplay wise) so I think it has enough time to sell some copies.

By setting up american psn accounts and downloading it from their store. There are lots of guides on how to do this on the net.
The demo is very very good, but I was already sold on this game after the first few trailers.

lmao, I didnt realise that once u download it through a usa set account and log back into ur own eu account that u could play it from there also. Is this recommended or not, would psn ban or issue warnings like ms with these shananigans Kind of silly they dont release stuff on eu psn at same time if all it takes is to create an account with us details.

Is anyone else not shocked at just how much of a clone of GoW this game is. I mean right down to minute details in the gameplay. The biggest one being the fact that the right analogue stick is used for dodge and there is no camera control, something I thought was pretty unique to the GoW series.

The combat system is identical. Glowing green stone objects that you break open and green orbs come out that give you health. A magical forcefield appears to lock you in an area until you've killed all the baddies. Gratuitous amounts of titties. QTE kills on large baddies. Mash circle to open things. Character is a religious warrior fighting against mythological gods (it's funny how xtians get their knickers in a twist over this, yet the Greek gods can be battled in GoW without a peep)

If the developers wheren't different I would of assumed this was just the God of War guys branching out into Christian mythology as they've already got Greek mythology covered.

This isn't just inspired from God of War, this is a direct clone of most of the story (if they'd of used Greek instead of Christian mythology and temples instead of Churches it would be unrecognisably the same) and gameplay.

I'd say I'll be playing GoWIII then giving this a miss for a while until it's in the bargain bin. Playing both of those games back to back would just jade me like trying to play [prototype] and inFamous did.

Makes me that bit more surprised that their releasing more PS3 exclsive versions of it than 360. You'd think they'd be aiming this at the 360 owners as they don't have anything like GOW.

In fairness, it seems to be a very well-realised rip-off.

While there is a place for originality in videogames, it is not the be-all and end-all. If the developers can make the game as fun as GoW, than it'll be worth playing.

Well neither would I. As it's an almost complete clone it plays just as good as God of War. I'll definitely play it at some point, but GoWIII will get priority.

I liked that hades has only been a minor part of GoWI and GoWII as playing in black and red environments filled with sulphur, blood, gore and fire for too long gets boring (see Clive Barker's Jericho) I really can't see how they will add variety into the levels having the whole thing set in Hell.

Ah I think im still bitter about EA, I saw a Command and Conquer 4 video there a day or two ago and it's the same recycled shíte they usually do. They destroyed my favourite franchise and i'll just never forgive them.....

There are seven stages, a stage for each circle of hell. And each circle is apparently completely different to the others, other than the bared breasts.

Played through the demo 3 times now and I love it to bits, but can't help but feel that the animated sections feel badly out of place... Kind of puzzling that they even used them considering how gorgeous the cut scenes using the engine are!
Fantastic game anyway, but I've already pre-ordered Bayonetta and just won't be able to afford GoWIII, Darksiders and this as well...

Yep, I have a feeling that this and Darksiders are both going to be dirt cheap not too long after release, unlike AAA titles like Mass Effect

I enjoyed the demo. Pity its out so close to GOW. Prob pick it up in a few months cheap.

I'm about 5 hours into this, and I have to say it's very average. Kratos has absolutely nothing to worry about.

Controls feel rather sluggish to me, making the block almost useless, also a ridiculous amount of enemies have unblockable attacks.

Camera angles are very frustrating at times, making what should be simple platforming extremely frustrating. Enemies are constantly getting in your way, making it impossible to gauge blocks/counter attacks.

I've played all three console God Of War games and am very much looking forward to III, and this just doesn't even come close to the epicness of the series it's so blatantly borrowing from.

If I had to give it a score, I'd say 6/10.

It's a rental I'd say, as I have a feeling it's quite short. 5 hours in and I'm on the 6th circle of Hell.
