    Hi,

Have sold my car recently and I dont want to buy until well into next year. Anyone know where I can lease a car for a few months on a month to month basis. I thought the economy was in tatters and it would be easy to give someone my business but the lease companies not interested or dont have the cars and normal car rental is too expensive. I have a business and vat no etc so cant see why there is no-one serving this market.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Will your insurance cover a lease? Are you an established company, or a sole trader?

Have you tried Windsor Galway - they do rentals, but you need your own insurance. Call Enterprise and ask for the long term rental department, or Avis at Galway Airport.

Cars which go out on long term rental cannot have the VRT deferred so there aren't as many of them available as for Short Term Hire.

If you are buying a cheapish car next year, well why not just buy it now, there wont be too much difference.
If you are getting an expensive car, your plan is well worth doing. I was in your situation in 2008 (waiting for a new car on order). I managed to borrow an old van from family member but I was seriously considering buying something cheap. If you bought something for a grand, that would be the cheapest way out Id say.

That's because most cars over 10 years old shot up in value yesterday, and are now worth at least €1,500.
