    she is modern icon.

As beautiful as she was, and as tragic her untimely death was, I prefer my 'modern icons' to steer clear of drug-abuse and show young wannabes a better example.

    I would say so.

I'd never heard of her until she died.

And she was hardly what you'd call a "modern icon"

Nonesense. Katie French was a pretty good looking model who died of an overdose.
    Icon? Rubbish.

As sad as it was that a young woman died, unless it comes out that there were marks on her body where she was held down and had the drugs forced on her,we have to assume that she took them of her own free will.

Sometimes these things happen,it's a shame, but that's how it is.
Very sad,but let's stop trying to make her out to be a "victim".

I disagree Helens,as i did before with you.

Yes,it's sad a young lady died, but she dies by her own hand from reckless debauchery.

She was not an icon, she was a media-savvy attention seeker.

The Katy French fan club never sleeps it seems, that there is still a bebo page dedicated to her memory is slightly grim to my mind. Thats it maintained by her father even more so. edit, missed read the script its someone else.

I think there's some better icons out there to be honest, although in fairness to her, she was probably the greatest Irish woman to ever hold a novelty sized mobile phone in her bikini in the Metro
    every.
    single.
    moring!

The OP seems to have a bit of an obsession with Katy French, and plugs that book a fair bit too.

    Hi,
I am totally agree with this comments.

You are also totally the same perason as the OP.

Katy French wasn't particularly talented. She got famous for taking raunchy pics in her exes restaurant.

She died of a coke overdose.
    Hardly an icon.

    Get the boat!

In fairness, I had no idea who she was until she died. Beatutiful? maybe to some but to me just another, some what pretty girl, with the right connections.
Yes, terribly tragic when a supposedly smart woman takes drugs and dies. If you're so moved by her death why dont you go and do some work / volunteering for a drug rehabilitation organisation or something?

Katie French was no better or worse than the thousands of others who take coke every weekend. However thanks to her friends in the media circle/circus she has been portrayed as some sort of fallen angel which I'm sure you'lll agree is bollox.
