Ok, so we're are all here, ranting about Public vs Private. However, The large Semi-State companies are also in re-arrangement mode. What are our opinions ? and any ideas on how to improve our Semi-State Structures.

Well (from personal experience) Bord Gais is a model of IN effeciency... we should privatise them.

Youd have a hard time doing that though - its in every BG employment contract that you must join siptu!

Run the career whingers and wasters out of the place.

The union warhorses just love to waste time and money arguing over the sacking of a waster who never has and never will do a decent days work.

This ties up workers reps/management/conveners and all the local management in totally unproductive work which at the end of the day will gain nothing for the company.

O'leary saw that scenario from day 1 and made sure that no career hatchers could last in his company.

That's the way to do it.
