If someone is over 27, living with parents, working full time (4 hours or so each day) , but only earning €100 because they are working in family business and not paying rent, if they are on JSA, can they get the balance through the supplementary welfare allowance? And, not get harrassed about looking for full time work, as they are full time, sort of.

    Thanks,

    mal

How much are you receiving on JSA? What is the balance?

They would be paid €100, so I am assuming that supplemantary welfare allowance would pay out the balance, which, after today, appears to be €96, down from €104.

they earn 100 from wages, but they want to know if they can apply for jsa, and if they don't get that, supplementary w.a.

You will have to go into your local office and check with them where they can see your PRSI history and explain your circumstances to them. Everyone is entitled to make a claim regardless of their circumstances. The deciding officer will then look at the claim to see if you are eligible for payment or not. Once you have a claim open you can go to the CWO to see if they can help you out. Only they will be able to say if they can or not.
