Anyone done a beauty therapy course in Galway or Cavan.
Galway - GTI and Georgina Price(private)
    Cavan - Cavan Institute

Im very interested in the Cavan course as its over 2 years and they seem to have work experience during the week.
Any thoughts on BT as a career?

I spent 4 yrs getting my science degree in Archaeology and absolutely loath it, i just cant justify digging a trench only to find nothing and backfill it any longer, having no proper working facilities, getting drenched to the bone, feeling depressed at the thought of rain, muck and diggers.
Its just not my passion anymore. I really want to do something that i have always had a love for and bring with me to another country (Australia maybe).
I have a great interest in beauty and would love to learn more about alternative therapies/treatments too.

I did the beauty course in cavan institute, it is a good course and I quite liked doing it at the time, but when I finished and went to work in a salon I absolutely hated it, bitchy girls, minimum wage, working late nights, and weekends, appointment after appointment to wax legs and bikini lines - not nice.
Women wanting to come in and gossip! Having to arrive 20 minutes before you start work to set up rooms which you don't get paid for. Having to constantly go on courses to update your skills in different products, and if you then leave the position you have to pay back to your employer the cost of the course.
suffice to say I don't work in it anymore, I don't regret doing the course but I definitely found it wasn't for me!!
