Not sure if this is the best forum for this but if not feel free to move it.

We've mice in the house and they are clever little bastards. We've left out traps for the last few nights and managed to catch one of them. We've tried cheese, jam, peanut butter but the little critters manage to eat everything without setting off the traps! I even saw one today licking jam off a trap fearlessly. Then he saw me and scarpered. So gonna try a sonic repeller. Anyone got any experience with them as in brand or effectiveness?

We found they liked nuts - the ones you'd feed to birds (we found out our bird feeders were attracting them). They tend to ignore cheese. There was one that like oats (as in porridge oats) so you could maybe sprinkle some over a nut on the trap? entice them? Old fashioned wooden snap traps seemed to work.
We also have one of those sonic thingys - we've not really had any since, but you do have to be careful, if you leave it on 24/7 they get used to it, so I think the trick is to have it on and off at different times (don't quote me on that!).

Tip I heard from another forum, is to spray 'Air freshner' underneath sinks or anywhere you don't keep food, its seems their nose is their detector and they don't like the smell of Air freshners, keep all areas inside and outside tidy and free from any debris or rubbish.
