Ring up O2 (or check online and give us the breakdown here) and ask them to go through the charges with you. It's more than likely that you've gone over your allowance and are being charged for extra data transferred.

Do you use youtube a lot? Stream video or TV? Stream music or radio? Download large movie or video files?

Yeah i use you tube alot and would watch soccer on streams..Not downloading anything really .. I thought when with a monthly bill you only pay for the amount of time your on the internet , im i charged extra for been on you tube and that.. I spent alot of time on betfair last month actually..

You're not charged for the time you're online. You are charged for what you download. While watching a youtube video or a live stream you are generally downloading all the time.

You get charged by the amount of traffic you use.

Everything you do on the internet is downloading. Watching streams and you tube videos generates a lot of traffic.

By the sounds of it you've gone over you're allowance like Random says. It's also possible that you've gone over it all 3 months but that this month tripped a penalty surcharge. Definitely ring them up and ask them to break down the fee though, sometimes their policies aren't clear and it may even be possible to dispute it if their wording is vague.

In the long term though, if you're unemployed and using the internet a lot you definitely want to switch to someone like NTL (who offer packages with unlimited downloads). O2's data allowance is pathetically small for what you pay and their surcharges are day light robbery.
