As with many of you, I want to see Avatar in the best (biggest:D) screen possible.

Anyone been to a good few cinemas in Dublin mainly for 3D films and noticed one far better (bigger) than the rest. I like dundrum myself, but that to do with the seats, screen was pretty small.

So what cinema has the biggest digital 3D screen?

Thanks guys - Cant wait for Jim to blow my mind in 3 dimensions:D

I went to see UP in 3D in the big screen in cineworld i.e screen 17. That's pretty big but I'm not sure how it compares with other cinemas.

It's a pity we don't have an imax cinema here anymore. Does anyone know if the 3d technology in the normal showings are the same as what's going to be shown in the imax cinemas??

dun laoghaire ain't great, saw beowolf in 3d there

the view in liffey valley has some great screens, think they do 3d movies

seems to be the same technology as imax, but have seen different standards of imax, maybe screens can be better, reading up a bit it seems the equipment is different but maybe the same idea?

The avatar film is digitally remastered for imax but it's hard to find out about the 3d used in imax films in comparison to anything else out there.

I think screen 17 in cineworld is like the second biggest in the country or something so thats probably your best bet

Screen 17 and Savoy 1 are the two biggest screens in the country with Savoy 1 being slightly bigger.

Just checked Savoys website and they are advertising it as Irelands biggest 3d screen.

The projectors in cineworld might be of better quality though (maybe someone can correct me on this?). I saw Avatar in Cineworld screen 17 and the quality of the image was outstanding.

 thought the biggest was in vue liffey valley, i may have been misinformed. that said, i'd say the difference in the screen sizes between the biggest screens is negligible. the next step up would be imax (that said i'm only guessing as i havn't been to vue or savoy although i did get to see dark knight in imax and it was summit else )
