    Hi there,

I'm writing a novel and I'm thinking of posting each chapter on Blogger every month. it would be a great way to drive traffic towards my blog if I got enough followers.

    What do yis reckon?

To be honest, I would be very careful about that. Posting on the internet is a form of publication and may affect the rights you can offer a publisher. I know there is the occasional story of a blogger who gets offered a book deal on the basis of an amazing blog, but it's extremely rare.

Write other stuff on your blog, but keep your novel separate.

It depends on whether you have any intention of trying to publish the novel or if it's just something you have lying about and want to share.

Then I wouldn't. Either post to a closed group, or only post small parts, so that you can offer full publishing rights when you are selling.

I've seen stuff I've written floating around the Internet ten years later, still in circulation, but not being credited to me in any way. I'd hate to be trying to convince a publisher that I held the rights to it.

Fine, if you want to be ripped off.

Wow! That's unbelievable, even after 10yrs. I atually thought it would be a good way to make extra cash! Luckily, I didn't as an agent has expressed great interest in my work I sent on today. Fingers crossed!

I took it as a compliment, that it was still relevant after all that time.

    Good luck with the agent.

Good luck with the agent and getting published!
It couldn't hurt to post part of a chapter on a message board though - garner interest from potential readers ;)

I like pretty much anything if it's well written. I struggle a little with Sci-Fi, that said.

Is it still out there? I don't think I've ever read any of your stuff.

I did a search on osteoporosis recently and found an article I'd written myself, but in a website I'd never heard of.

I mostly write for papers (not much these days now that I'm full time at home with children) but some bits and pieces on the web.
