    hi all.

im going to be on a 12 hour flight friday and going to be mighty bored as there are no personal screens.

does anybody know where i could get a kit/gear that could plug into my iphone 3g and give me a bit more charge?will be reading books, maybe listen to some music and maybe play a few games.

have to pick it up in dublin so has to be a shop. dont mind if its second hand.

    thanks!

i have the usb cable, so a battery extender that has a usb out to connect to the iphone would be good also.

    cheaper the better

    thanks!

It's possibly, if not likely, the duty-free / airport shops will have battery extenders.

I'm pretty sure I saw iPod/iPhone battery extenders in Dublin airport last month ... the aisle of shops opposite the security check-in areas.

Should be able to get a PowerMonkey in most electrical stores. Should do the job for you.

Correct me if I'm wrong, don't you need to charge the battery extender too before you use it?

That looks really good. Have you got one yourself? Does it work with the 3Gs?
    Is delivery free to Ireland?

How do you plan to get power from it then? ;)

Well that's what I am saying...if you buy one of these before you board your flight, what's the point it still needs to be charged.:pac:

You'd need something that takes regular batteries. I'm sure they exist.

A lot of shops in airports have a load of them on charge so they always give you a full one. Well they did for me in Boston.

    thanks lads.

i got a phillips universal usb charger SCM7880/05 for 30 euros.it comes fully charged.

however i ended up not using it as my battery only died with 3 hrs left on the flight, but my ebook reader's evaluation period had ended, therefore i couldnt read anymore. so its still in its box.

Cheers again, should be handy for the return flight!

I ended up ordering one of these anyway. I needed an charger for the iPhone anyway and this thing doubles as a battery pack and a charger so it'll kill two birds with one stone. Not bad for just over €20.

To get longer out of your battery, install boss prefs. Lower down the brightness a few notches, that should help.

If not on a plane, turn off 3G and EDGE, so you have no internet connection on in the background. Should give you a good bit longer too...

I'm thinking of buying one of these as a present.
Does any one know if these work on 3gs?
It says on their website that it works on an 'iphone', I presume there is no difference between the connector required for 3g/3gs?

    thanks in advance,
