Billy and Katriona Shanahan and their intrepid team of “Blazing Bikers” motorbike charity run enthusiasts are taking on a new, novel and innovative May Bank holiday 2010 Charity Road Run.

The eagerly awaited announcement sees a team of men, women, biker and pillions including a few visually impaired head across the channel to Wales for the aptly named “Celtic Tour”.

The three stages listed below will see the charity bikers ride a total of 560 undulating miles in Wales.

There will be a tour of the Isle of Anglesey and a brief cross over the English border at Hay-On-Wye!

The Highlight of the Celtic Tour will be the Memorial Charity bike ride on Saturday in memory of a Welsh folk hero , former Wales and British Lions Rugby star Ray Gravell.
Ray had very close links to the charity benefiting from this event- the National Council for the Blind of Ireland for many years.
We hope local chairty bikers from all over Wales will join this rally and raise funds for local Welsh Charities on the day.

The stages will take the tour down the Welsh west coast via the “Isle of Anglesey and the beautiful quaint village of Betwys Y Coed on day one, a scenic ride down to Stradey Park Hotel in Llanelli.

Day two, the big event will take the team east from our official startline at Ray Gravell’s statue in Parc Y Scarlets. Then heading via Brecon north on the Welsh/English border with a slight incursion onto English soil close to Hay-On-Wye!!! We will then continue on north to a well deserved lunch and rest point in Welshpool, before returning south through the central and wonderful heartland of wales including stops in Rhayader and Buith Wells!
We will finish again at the Stradey Park Hotel our general HQ for the Celtic Tour.

The route for day 3 will be “West is best” this will take the bikers along the south coast of Wales via Carmathen, Milford Haven and Haversford west to our finish line at the Irish Ferries terminal.
    Our total is 560 miles!!

A total of 125 bikers will travel accompanied by a support crew from all over Ireland. A fundraising target of €500 pps is required which can be raised through sponsorship. Pillions €300 pps
Book early to secure your place by deposit as interest is already surpassing previous Blazing Bikers Charity Tours.
