Anyone else having problems with AVG 9- slowing down surfing etc.

    Hi.
    Anyone else having a problem with this- having to refresh pages/pages hanging etc.
    And anyone got a solution (preferably without unistalling version 9).

    Have you disabled the vile Linkscanner on the piece of ****?

    Yep, the linkscanner hogs bandwidth, You can disable it and have the option not to install it if You pick custom install while installing

    Actually, after googling the problem there, i just disabled the active surf shield on it (not the search shield yet though) and that seems to improve things.
    Browsing seem OK now.

    Do you use AVG- just wondering would Avast be a better option.

    for Freeware I reccomend Avast or Microsoft Security Essentials
