    Hi all,

I'm buying electronic drums for a Santa present in the next day or two.

Looking at Roland TD-4K on thomann for around 800. There's beginner kits for around 500 bit I'd prefer to spend a bit extra and get something better.

    Any advice?

Looking at there sight they are not selling the complete set for the 800 price. You will need the rack and a kick pedal, the roland rack with this set adds up to around 959 and then you need the pedal on top of this. Have a look at what comes with it as well.

There are good deals available here for about the same with a stool, sticks, and headphones as well. The TD4 is a great kit for the house and for learning on. The rythm coach and other functions that are inbuilt are very good.

Just dont forget all the bits you need or it could be a sad christmass while you sit and look at your presents without being able to play them.

    Hey,

    Thanks for the advice.

    Is this a complete kit?

http://www.thomann.de/ie/roland_td4kmds4_vdrum_set_bundle.htm - I just noticed it's not in stock and I need it for Xmas.

Is there much of a difference between the Thomann bundle and this: http://www.xmusic.ie/product.php?productid=31694&cat=418&page=1

I dont believe the X-Music bundle comes with a throne/kick, but there are some good guys in there so Im sure you could work out a deal.

They are both complete kits. Yes the xmusic one does include pedal, sticks, headphones and a throne. THey sell it with just the rack and drums for 989. Not sure exactly which ones though. They might be better then the millenium ones. Would be worth the phone call.

or consider this: brendan ruddy/music man in cavan is selling the hd1 v drums for 599. i think thats the cheapest for that kit in ireland and only beaten by thomann (€14 the difference)
he will do a deal on other equipment if buying in bulk.:)

First off they are not the cheapest kit in Ireland because the exact same kit sells for 595 in other Irish shops as can be found through a search on this forum. Secondly he was saying he wanted something a little bit better then a beginners kit and to be honest that is what I see the HD1 as.

One of the key things I find when looking at electronic drums is a proper kick pedal and the HD1 has not got that. The brain while functional and with good sounds is quite limited compared to the td4 so while it is an excellently built kit it would be a starter kit. I generally would not recommend people look at anything lesser then a HD1 but if they can afford it I say go with a td4.

    Hi all,

Just bought this on donedeal for 850, picking it up on Saturday.

    What ye think?

That seems like a pretty good deal to me. The 4000 pedals are nice and the PM10 alone would be worth around 150-200 second hand.

    Cool stuff.

I don't have drum headphones but I have Bose noise isolation ones which I presume will do the job.

Is the kit itself ok? Better than the TD-4?
