Well The Prodigy are set to pop in after the gig, so why would it attract a "bad crowd" ? ? ?

Considering Neil Landstrumm pulled over 400people into Mc Gruders last year- not one person there would be deemed 'bad'-nor was there any trouble whatsoever, so I think you're fairly safe tbh.
Security will be monitoring the crowd closely to ensure that there is no trouble inside and out. We will also have extra security on the night.

NO need to worry about the crowd.

    Neil Landstrumm
A fixture of the UK electronic music scene since 1994, Neil Landstrumm has released work on many of the most recognised labels in the industry including Peacefrog, Tresor, Scandinavia (his own imprint) and arguably the UKs’ greatest electronic label of recent years, Planet Mu. His first album for Mu entitled "Restaurant of Assassins" saw him hijacking varied influences from techno, dubstep, garage and breaks as well as vintage 90’s rave and Sheffield bleep. The success of Restaurant's ravestep sound led Neil onto a string of sessions for the BBC, a main feature on the German "Slices" DVD and relentless live tour dates all throughout 2009. Autumn 2009 also saw the mini LP project "Bambaataa Eats His Breakfast" again released on Mu, a psychedelic 8 track minimal album that wires together dubstep and fx with a penchant for 8-bit melodies, brick-a-brack percussion and a touch of raves rude energy. His recent RA Podcast spans material from his three LP’s on Planet Mu plus loads of dedicated live set elements. According to Landstrumm, “the work represents most of the electronic styles taken from the LPs and indulges my '90-91 rave fantasies as well as the darkest parts of my own take on UK electro bass music.” Expect this and more from Landstrumm on Friday 18th!!

    Lief Ryan
Founder of Growth Recordings, an independent techno label based in Wales, Lief’s live performances are gaining him ever-increased recognition, storming Ugly Funk in London, Bloc Weekend, Bashout in Bristol and numerous European gigs with a twisted, wonky techno/electro style… "Regarded by many as one of the great new talents of UK techno, and certainly demonstrating a healthy degree of originality. Although he undoubtedly has one foot in the camp of wonk, there is also a refreshing directness that makes his music a killer choice for tougher clubs. Influences drawn from breaks and grime production give the bottom end a satisfying weight and throb, while elements of the programming certainly owe a debt to 'classic' techno and wonky producers such as Neil Landstrumm.” This is Lief’s debut in Ireland and is sure to be one to remember!

But why is their the need to advertise a Landstrumm gig as a 'prodigy afterparty gig'. He's a big enough name in his own right mongst the Techno / Dubstep crowd here in Dublin so it beats me why The Prodigy have to be brought into it....

Because it's not just Landstrumm and Lief Ryan playing.
There is another room of music with lots of Acid House, rave and the likes.

The Good Bits is the closest venue to the O2 and we decided it would be fitting to throw an afterparty on top of what were doing already.

Hopefully having some of the 'Prodigy crowd' in there will open peoples eyes to acts like Landstrumm and Lief Ryan who may never have heard of them before or gone to a gig of this nature...
What does it say about our scene if only certain crowds should attend certain gigs? It's all about introducing/ pushing new music, artists and more importantly- having fun!! This gig is the perfect opportunity to do so!
Who really cares as long as everyone is happy and enjoying themselves?

Just a quick reminder for the after-party in The Good Bits. Tickets are going fast so anyone planning on going should try their best to get there as soon as possible after the gig or else get advanced tickets which are only €12, saves any hassle on the door. You can get them at www.eventelephant.com/prodigyafterparty - it's a relatively painless process too! There will be tickets on the door though, first come, first served. Should be a great night!! Remember, it's along the Luas line from The O2 (think it's the 3rd stop up) just after Connolly Station, facing Busaras. Seeyas there!

Also, forgot to point out that your first pint is free if you show your O2 Prodigy ticket stub at the bar in The Good Bits.
