Dont think so, last ones were VAG sdi's as far as i know

I think they're obsolete much like petrol carb engines

    ...could be wrong though :p

Diesels without Turbo aren't very performant.

As you also might have noticed, even the originally naturally aspirated engines are changed for turbo engines in a lot of new models to get emissions down. This applies both to Diesel and Petrol engines.

VW used to sell the Caddy with a 2.0SDi engine here, not sure if they still do or not, but we never used to get the passenger versions.

VW are now advertising the Caddy Life (Caddy with seats) but it's only with the 1.9Tdi and 2.0Tdi engines.

I don't think there are any cars with non Turbo Diesel engines available anymore.

VW sold the MK5 golf in the UK with the 2.0 SDI engine, I've seen a few imports for sale popping up here, however I'm not sure if the MKVI is available with it...

Wikipedia says its not, the base diesel is the 1.6 CR TDi with 90 or 105bhp. That said in performance terms the ancient 1.4 80bhp petrol, would be as bad as a 2.0 SDi, and less economical!:)

Not listed in the new car sales guide for Ireland. May be elsewhere in Europe?

Apparently you can get an iQ with the 1.4D4D 90ps engine! Should be a bit of go in that :P

You're talking a 2.0/2.7 common rail or 2.9 indirect injection engines on the Ssangyongs.
    All turbo.

The Aygo 1.4 N/A was available in the UK in 2005, dunno when the D-4D came along.

Was gonna post and ask if superchargers were covered in this discussion. Apparently the only diesels that are supercharged are trucks that can't afford the lag.
    Good discussion here:

what were the last of the 1.7 non turbo opel engines in and when did they stop producing them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,520 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

The 1.7 non turbo was available on the Combo which is still in production, I assume the 1.3 Fiat engine has replaced it at this stage.

The 1.7 wasn't on the Corsa B (93-00) and all the ones on the Corsa C (00-06) were all turbod.

I've searched for a used one before and can never find one! Anyone know more about it? Was it the only diesel in the range at a certain time?

I came across 1 ever. Looked exactly the same as the standard apart from a badge.

You'll be very lucky to come across one I'd say.
