iPhone 3G MMS settings on 3 Ireland - problems!

I've an iPhone 3G and have just ported over to 3Ireland (I am no longer in O2 contract etc so there's nothing particularly odd about it & the iPhone's now jailbroken)

Data's working absolutely perfectly, but I am having some problems with the MMS settings.

    Here's what I have :

    MMS
    • APN : 3ireland.ie
    • Username : (Blank)
    • Password : (Blank)
    • MMSC : http://mms.um.3ireland.ie:10021/mmsc/
    • MMS Proxy : mms.3ireland.ie:8799
    • MMS Max Message Size : 300
    • MMS UA Prof URL : (Blank)

I've checked all of the stickies and I can't find anything else that will help.

I've also re-booted the phone several times.

When I send MMS, it clearly tries to send it then a "!" appears by the message and it says it was unable to send.

Any help would be much appreciated!

    • MMS Max Message Size : 300

You have set the maximum size of a MMS message you can send to 300 bytes. Change this to 307200 (300 kilobytes) and it should work.

    Do you see " 3 " or " 3G " beside signal strength bar ?

AFAIK when the Iphone cannot connect to 3ireland ( 3G ) it connects to the Vodafone 2G network , this shows up as "3" on an Iphone with a 3Ireland sim

You are roaming on Vodafones network as per an agreement between the 2 companys ,
My Iphone will only send & receive MMS on 3G network ,
might be because I have selected "no data roaming"

Unfortunately when you re-enter 3G area , you will not automatically change back to 3G .
You have to search & manually select 3G , or turn Airplane mode on ,then off

It's in full 3G coverage max signal strength!

Changing the number of bytes did it!

    Working fine now!!

    Thanks Blaz!!!

    Hmmm

    the connection speeds are pathetic!

Might be opting to use the 14 day cancellation period!!

    Download speed: 214.2 Kbits/s (Max: 367.7 Kbits/s)
    Upload speed: 49.1 Kbits/s (Max: 55.3 Kbits/s)
    Network: 3G
