SKY+ Box problems

Just wondering if anyone else has had problems like this. I have an Amstrad Sky+ box and have had a few problems with it. First of all it fails to record programmes some of the time and also sometimes during playback it can suddenly freeze and there is no way of getting it going again without plugging out the box for a while and rebooting it, It sometimes comes back on saying no sattelite feed detected and requests to be unplugged and restarted. When you restart it can take quite a while for the power button to go from red back to green and restart. Every so often then as well, when watching normal channels the picture will freeze for a couple of seconds then carry on. Its really annoying. I forced a download of software last night but it didnt seem to make a huge difference. Also when scrolling through the epg its a small bit sluggish i think compared to my original sky box. Is this the norm for these boxes? I seriously hope not. Any suggestions/advice would be apprciated.

How often do you shut it down and reboot it - I do this to mine every 48 houes or so, and its keeps it running smoother.

To be honest I leave it plugged in all the time, the same as I did with my standard box, I didnt realise you would have to reboot so regularly?

It prudent to do so - try it and see - just power it down every 48 hours, leave it for 10 or 20 secs, power it back up and see if it make any difference for you.

Thanks for that, will try it and see how it goes. Hopefully it will knock some of the bugginess out of it.
