could anyone recommend on where to get it cheap here or UK as i have asked around but garages in Dublin are sticking by list price but there has to be 10-20% of vans if cars are going cheap

hope someone in the industry can help me

There are 145 Sprinters showing up on Autotrader.co.uk Vans http://www.autotrader.co.uk/VANS/vans.jsp that are up to 1 year old. More if you want an older van.

Are you looking at brand new, or second hand? Not too likely to find a used 09 Sprinter around this year....

I think it's generally cheaper to buy new commercials in Ireland than the UK as it's only €50 VRT for Vans. Standard specification on the Sprinter LWB HR is also higher in Ireland than the UK. High Roof here is a a super high roof option in the UK, and Irish models have uprated suspension as standard.

I know http://www.jpmd.ie/index.php/mercedes have Sprinters in stock. Call Mike and see what sort of deal he'd do. 20% off list price is a bit much, but up to 10% might be achievable.

Have you tried Terry Lilly Commercials in Finglas? Usually have a good selection.

Have you considered waiting until Jan to buy an 09 as they will be cheaper then, maybe call into a few main dealers and check out ex demo models.

My brother has a 02 sprinter from new,its always full of tools and equipment, his a hard driver and although well maintained the van has suffered a lot of abuse travelling on our crap country roads, to date its never broken down and its got over 300,000 on the clock.

OP: You say garages in Dublin are sticking by list price?? No wonder theres so many of them facing liquidation if they're not prepared to give something off.

Ive contacted mutec and they don't care and don't want business, Ive looked at a crafter 09 for 20k inc vat but i'm looking for sprinter for around that. there has to be dealers ready to let go of stock cause of recession.

Im looking for new 09 as i am putting a freezer in it and want it to last, also 2010 list prices for vans are increasing. Well that's what i have been told.

A brand new Crafter for €20k inc VAT

With a bit of bargaining, I should just about be able to buy a Transporter 1.9Tdi SWB for that price.

No one in their right mind is going to let a brand new Sprinter go for €20k + VAT as it would lose them money. The dealer as to buy the vehicle off MDL for a set price and only make money on the difference between what they pay for it, and what they sell it to you for.

Margin on a Sprinter is nowhere near 20%. For a 311/35 you are looking at least €28k inc. VAT

+ VAT for a used van.

Looks quite good and low mileage, but are those holes in the floor of the ply?

YES I'M NOT JOKING EVERYONE I SPEAK TO THEY SAY THE SAME. I HAVE SEEN THE VAN, DROVE IT AND GOT A LOAN TO PAY FOR IT BUT I WOULD PREFER A SPRINTER. IM NOT DREAMING ITS TRUE. PM ME AND I WILL LET YOU KNOW :)

ITS A GENUINE DEAL AND ITS INC VAT AND ITS FROM A MAJOR VW GARAGE. PEOPLE ARE IN TROUBLE SO THEY ARE LETTING VANS ESPECIALLY GO CHEAP AS NOT MANY PEOPLE WANT THEM.

Can get same van for 20 inc vat so that's 20% off, i spoke to them as they are close to me but they are idiots and wont even drop much so they might be next out of business if they don't listen to buyers and shift stock.

Just got my VW Crafter today. 2.4 LWB High roof. for €20k exactly inc vat. Was extremely happy with the deal as i rang around 15 garages and this one was the cheapest and friendliest.

Its gone to get a freezer in it and i saved €1500. Recession is good for buying expensive products as the van was 33k new list price :)

Are you registered for vat, why not gget a new 09 for 10k more including vat. and you get vat back. Its a better option when its new and theres warranty.
