    Folks,

    looking for some advice...

I own an old Thomson Sky+ 160 Box with the old EPG

I'd like to get a new Sky+ box , but I notice that half the 160gb capacity is for Sky Anytime leaving me with 80gb

If I go for the Sky+ HD box, it looks like I have to subscribe to the HD channels I'm not so keen on paying further subscription charges...

Is there any way to buy a Sky+ HD box independently and pairing the new box with the existing card?

    James

yup , but you will not get one from Sky.

I got mine on ebay a couple of years ago,
the new epg is only for the HD boxes,so no difference to the +box,

i got my first skyhd box from ebay a few years ago... rang up sky and got them to pair the card without adding on the HD pack no bother.

but if you bought the box from sky they would want you to take on the HD sub for 12 months alrite.

If its just more space you are after then you could do a HDD upgrade.. see here for more info: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=156344
