WHERE TO BUY A NEW PS3 THIS XMAS???

Ok im an Xbox 360 user thats just tired of paying for stupid live suscriptions, and wants free online like everyone else.

Im primarily looking for a good 250 Gig PS3 slim bundle deal from retailers in Dublin. preferably for the price around 299.99 - 399.99 , for the value of games and accessories included. like the remote, extra controller, Included games etc.. Or even the 120 Gig PS3 but has to be good value!

If you find any really good deals that you recently purchased please tell me...

Also please tell me if you know about the PS3 deals in Harvey Normans as they don't display anything on the internet, only on adds and the paper.

I got a 120gb slim in gamestop today with modern warfare 2 for €300. Left €50 for games in my budget!

HMV then have MGS4 for €18, as well as a good few others. They have Batman AA for €23

Xtravision have killzone 2 for €20

So you could get all that and be under €400 by a fair bit!

i traded in my 360 with 9 games for a ps3, got the older model as i dont like the slim one, yesterday, got it with infamous and a 2nd wireless controller for 140 bucks after the trade in, not too shabby considering the controllers are 60 quid themselves, the difference between the options on both consoles is amazing, i got sick of my 360 not being able to stream stuff from my usb stick after the last system update and it decided it wouldnt connect to my broadband anymore, plus the thing sounds like a jet engine at night time, the ps3 is super quiet compared to it, i shoulda done this months back, now, off to play Uncharted

I got a 250 gig with uncharted 2 + fifa 10, there was a choice in GAME, but I didnt want any of them so I traded in fifa. Its the best bundle I think value wise, the only two places I could find that do it are game and gamestop, its getting rare now I would say. The only other 250 gig bundle I found floating around was the 2 blurays + remote, but I had no interest in it.

Margins are tight on consoles, so the best bargains are going to be the offical sony bundles with 1 game + any game the shop may throw in.

I checked there and they were €250. Maybe it was just the branch I was in. Meh... only €10 difference in the end!

sorry meant to say i got it in gamestop, they have some decent deals in there, even if the guy that served me thought that "the older model" meant "id like a second hand ps3 please" fool

Can you get older models that are new anymore? I thought they were out of production. Bit late for me though, got the slim today, but would rather the older one for the ability to put a second OS on it and all the cool extras that come with that, mainly playing Snes games tbh

Yeh i know what you mean, Most of the staff in Gamestop are complete twats!!! They dont know anything about consoles or games... Had a right number of situations where they are always wrong! Did he really think you were gona pay 300 quid for a second hand PS3 and the game??? they dont deserve to work there, the only person that knows anything in Gamestops is the manager!

God imagine going slightly off topic...the nerve of him, you gave clear instructions at the top of this thread as to what was demanded from everyone on this forum and he clearly disobeyed...I for one am not happy and I won't rest till the perpetrator is flogged in public...some people eh?

Anyway and before you demand a public hanging for me (afterall I rambled a bit above) Smyths are doing PS3 250G with 3/4games (select choice), extra controller and possibly a remote for €369/€379.

I know, I was thinking of getting the Slim and giving my phat one to my boy for his playroom. The annoying part...when I mentioned it to the really intelligent assistant he had no idea of the previous price, he checked the system and it showed that the price had gone back to €275 + €5 for the disposal charge.

Yeah you can, i got an 80gb older model brand new just the other day, they only had a few of them left though
