I made a thread in the Louth forum asking about more info on back to Education but just thought I'd throw a similar thread here too, as it may get more views/replies and Generally the people in this forum are more likely to be knowledgeable on the subject.

I'm just wondering if i can ask where I'm supposed to go to get info on this. As i say in the other thread, I'm 21, and have no leaving cert, hate the thoughts of the leaving cert but realise i'll need it to get a decent formal education.

So im wondering, do i go to Social Welfare with this? FAS? Another group?

Also, can i ask, if you plan to do your leaving cert, do they send you back to an actual secondary school? Cos I really, really wouldn't like that?

Or is there any way you can do it like a FAS course? (ie; a room full of people who actually want to learn, and not just piss about all day).

    Cheers :)

Go to your Social Welfare office to discuss your options, they may have a list of approved centres in which you can study or might be able to advise you who would be the best to contact in relation to it. You can also make an appointment with the job facilitator there who can help you in relation to Back to Education and other courses that may be of interest.
