Im getting married next month and have nothing to wear. I dont want to wear a "wedding dress" and dont want to wear anything white. Im looking for a long evening dress but havent a clue where to look? Any ideas? Ive already tried online in debenhams, monsoon and coast and couldnt find anything.

Julien up on 1st floor stephens green do some nice bits. Some completely awful stuff too. Theres a shop called covet in Powerscourt that rent out designer dresses, you could find something great there.

There's Lara on Dame Lane near Central Bank, they have lovely stuff.

Also there's a shop called Nijou on South Anne Street (I think) and they have some of the most beautiful stuff in there. I walked past last week and there was the most stunning gown in the window... Fabulous dresses.

I second the recommendation for Covet, amazing stuff and so perfect if you just want it for one day. How about vintage? There's Jenny Vander on Drury Street or Jean Cronin in the Loft Market in Powerscourt shopping Centre, both have gorgeous stuff and it would be something you could wear again.

Theres a few boutique style places that have opened on Drury St, but I havent had a chance to look at them properly, but if you get a chance (while youre in covet) you could try in them

Brilliant. My budget will stretch to €500 but ideally Ill get something for €300 or less.

Try costume on the road leading from powerscourt centre to Drury st (next door to Harlequinn). The road Grogan's is on if you know it.

Saw the most beautiful grecian style long dress in dunnes the other day - long flowing, covering all the "right" bits!

Cheers everyone, just compiling my list for tomorrow. Anybody know what sort of stuff is in Wicked Frills near the Ilac centre?

Taffeta, neon colours, plunging necklines, diamante... suitable if you want to look very very over the top and leaning towards the trailer trash style.
