Right so disconnected ipod - appaerently now I have no music on it.

Well I do of course - went into ipod and showed hidden files in finder, blah blah and went into the folder where the files are all there garbled up even including stuff I had on the usb of it and album art etc.

So how do i get Itunes and my ipod to recognise and realize that my music is still on the ipod?

    Thanks in advance.

Please - I have no music on my Ipod - and would prefer not reloading everything as I do not have everything on my macbook, either music or podcasts.

    Anyone?

What type of iPod is it? Do a reset (Hard reset using button press's)

tried that reset - no joy

    its a classic

the music and all info is still on the ipod - shows up as almost full, as it was before the songs got ''deleted''.

Try downloading iRip (formally iPodRip), installing and seeing if your songs show up. If they do then perhaps take them off, format the iPod and reload the music.

i tried yamipod - didnt work.

there must be a way of making my songs play and show up in itunes - they are all on the hard drive.

Right - if I take all the folders from the ipod the hidden ones with the garbled names and add them to itunes and format my ipod and reload the songs in - do all the playlists and ratings, podcasts and art come up?

This happened me, and Senuti was able to find the files for me, and import them all back to my computer. Then i just stuck them all back on, and problem solved!
