Hey just wondering if anyone has received their first installment of their higher education grant? I only started in DIT in Novermber so my application was very late compared to everyone else.

The list of cheques waiting to be collected in Aungier St is pretty small so just wondering if the first installments haven't been in yet or if they have and have been mostly collected already?

    Cheers guys

Most of the first installments checks are collected as soon as the student numbers are put up and in most cases first installments were paid like a month ago.
I only recieved my letter of confirmation from my grant authority like last week and i applied in august so if you havent recieved a later of confirmation that your getting the grant you could be waiting a long while...
Also make sure when you do receive it you bring a copy down to the reg office. I gave in my letter to the reg office like last wed and received my check the next day
    I hope this helps :D

I think it depends on what coco you applied to. I applied to south dublin coco at the start of november and was onto them there earlier today about my application, yer one on the phone said there was a good few hundred applications to get through and there were big delays because a lot of people only filled in the bare details, so they're having to ring them up and get the rest of the details for the application. So I probably won't get my first installement till well after the New Year, but she said cause of the delay I'd probs get the 2nd installement with the 1st.
