We have two sky plus boxes in the house. One is working perfectly but the other is not. At least once a day it gives a "satellite signal not received" message and requires plugging out and plugging in again. That's not a huge deal in itself but as you never know when the signal will drop it means recording anything on the box is a bit of a lost cause. The last 5 recordings all ended up as "No Signal-could not record" as they fell during periods that the box decided not to work.

I rang sky and they offered to send an engineer but 60euro is a bit steep for my tastes right now. They didn't do any of the usual "go to singal test of your menu blah blah" stuff that they usually do to diagnose the problem. They asked no questions in fact they just offered an engineer and said thats all they could offer.

    So two questions:

1.Does anyone know what might be up with my sky box and what I could do about it?

2.When your year long warranty period is up with Sky do they just send out an engineer regardless of what the issue is?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)
