I was looking at picking up a Humax Foxsat HDR.
Just wondering where is the cheapest place to go.
Also is this the cheapest option for someone who wants HD and twin tuner?

got mine in richersounds, they do a boards discount on delivery. I use mine with one input and you get nearly full functionality

I got mine from Richersounds also

    http://www.richersounds.ie/asp/product.asp?ObjectID=938&Mode=0&CategoryID=6&sub=101&productid=840

£245 - not sure if delivery is free for boardies...

But Amazon are also selling them now for about the same price, also free delivery to IRE (provided you select super saver shipping). You pay Irish vat with amazon - which means more money stays in the country.

GBP 253.41 inc Ire VAT & Delivery

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Humax-FOXSAT-HDR-Freesat-Installation-Recommended/dp/B001L5YU36/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1260032822&sr=1-1

Richersounds will price match - so the amazon price is the most you should pay inc delivery.

    That's interesting.

I thought that Freesat boxes were still in the category of products that Amazon will not ship here, but sure enough I went all the way to the last stage before placing the order and it seems they have no problems with an Irish address.

I don't know does Amazon give over the VAT to the Irish Govt though? Still prefer RS and I got the 5 yr warranty as its much easier to deal with them than with amazon if something goes wrong.

They charge Irish VAT because they are registered with Irish revenue for VAT. Of course they have to give it over to the gov.

And for sure - if you prefer to buy from RS - I've no problem with that they do good customer service and their 5 yr warranty prices are also very good.

ok, just that there were other websites charging Irish VAT but never actually giving it over to Govt here, they would pay UK govt the 17% or whatever.

    Vince,
not sure where you got that price from - but our price on the Humax Foxsat 320GB HDR is actually £244.95 which is approx €275??

Keep me posted if you have any queries or if we can assist in any way,
