    Hi Guys,

Looking at getting a new tri suit for the coming year, I had a one piece for the last two years and im unsure whether to get another one or go with the two piece. Im sure someone has raced in both versions, is there much of a difference in comfort?

    Cheers

I have raced and do race in both trisuits and two pieces.

Depending on distance, conditions and other factors one can be better than the other.

Two pieces give more flexibity, less restriction and are cooler. You also have the distance to swap out the shorts for compression ones for longer races - more mix and match. Also for longer distance races the other kind of toilet stop is easier.

One pieces are much better for pool swims and cooler races.

There can be more restriction with the one pieces if the sizing isn't bang on as they can "pull" your shoulders forward and can affect your posture I find if the fit isn't bang on. Also I find I overly relax my core muscles when wearing a one piece - haven't figured out why yet.

Two pieces come in two broad types, ones where the tops come down to, or overlap, with the shorts. and ones where there is a significant area of midesction exposed. Both have the benefits outlined above - but if you fail the jiggle test don't get a euro-porn version as you will feel self concious.

My personal preference is for a one piece for Olympics and under raced in Ireland. Two piece (non euro-porn) for HIM and IMs. I do have a euro-porn two piece but that's not likely to make an appearance anytime soon :)

Not sure if this helps, its just my experiences.

I was thinking along the same lines myself in regards to the restriction/flexibility been a bit less with the 2 piece. I just never felt that "free" in the one piece, if that makes any sense, so sizing mush have just been off

Dont have to worry bout the jiggling bits just yet but think id stay away from the eurn-porn tops as iv seen them in action and they dont really sell themselves to well, maybe if it was 30 degrees id chance one:D

    Cheers for the advice
