Sky engineer availability?

    Where can I find a reliable Sky engineer in the North Kildare/West Dublin area? The engineer who was supposedly going to be sent out by Sky decided not to appear at all on the appointed day and then decided to cancel the call-out for today without consulting me.

    I will need someone to probably examine the dish on the roof.

    EXTREMELY annoyed with Sky. :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

    It's OK now, I've picked someone out of the Independent Directory.

    You know, I've yet to meet a Sky engineer (and i use the term Engineer loosly) without a MASSIVE PAIN IN HIS ROCKS!?!?

    Sky must be **** to work for or the work is mind mumbing?

    We have a result. After the disgraceful shambles that I went through over the past two weeks, I found Electro Components in Inchicore who were brilliant. A very nice man sorted it out for me and I am very happy with the service. Recommended.

    I'm glad that you got your issue sorted out, but I wanted to pick up on this subtle but important point. The term "engineer" has been appropriated by everyone and anyone in such a wide variety of ordinary jobs that it has become almost meaningless. It used to be that you actually had to have a degree in engineering to call yourself an engineer, but now it seems that it's just a suffix that is used when people want to make their job title sound more professional... and therefore more expensive! :pac:

    In America, an engineer drives the trains.

    A person who works on engines is a mechanic, but a person who designs engines is an engineer.
