Opinions please. Have been sticking a few euro on Spain for last few months and was delighted with draw. But at 4/1 I am wondering are they still worth backing. I know they got a great group but I would expect them to qualify from any group so that shouldn't come into it. Have small stakes on Ivory Coast too. Who else worth considering? Brazil got a toughie but should qualify and they're the only side to have won outside their own continent (twice). Thinking six to one there could be nice.

i think mexico to win group A @ 10/3 is good value! france are the favourites for the group but they havent been too impressive of late!

As regards outright betting il be having a few quid on Holland! they got a tough group though but i expect them to have enough class to get through itbut not without a few scares!

I still like the look of Ghana at 80/1 for e/w bet. Its their home continent, and they've a good team. Group isn't too nasty either (Germany, Serbia & Austrailia). There could even be arguements for them winning their group depending on what way Germany are playing.

I wouldn't hang about too long on this though, because I think they'll do very well at African cup of nations, if they do their odds will plummet.

I wouldn't back Spain at 4/1 now considering their group is linked with the "group of death" for the 2nd round. They'll be facing top teams the whole way through if they are to win the Cup.

+1 I think England have a great chance.

It will be interesting if England play France in the quarter finals who people will be cheering for.

Paraguay to top group F could be a good bet. Italy are always slow starters and Paraguay did really well in the South American qualifying

That is a very nasty group for Ghana! Serbia and Germany are top teams and Australia are no pushovers.

Im backing Spain and Brazil, then the biannual laying of England, and am having a punt on Serbia and Slovakia to lay them if they get through their groups.

Good point on the ACN, going to have to have a better look at that.

i havent done the work yet but ill be definitely be looking at backing a couple of teams like switzerland and serbia for example or any other teams with bigger odds but that have a chance of winning one or two of their first games. There are decent teams with big odds there, just lay them off for a nice profit if they get going at all! i think there could be a few surprises with the likes of portugal, france and italy not the powers that they have been before.

Old Moore Almanac 2010 has predicted Spain to win the World Cup.

Chile are useful, Australia are underrated, Argentina have the players and New Zealand are a pub team group A will be very low scoring.

The under-rated Danes are 6-5 to qualify. That looks good to me considering their qualification performances.
I'd be opposing Serbia and Portugal as the former flatter to deceive while Brazil will be aiming to annihilate all the Brazilians now wearing the Portuguese jersey.
England may go all the way to the semis this time round. Someone up there said he'd lay them. I used to do well doing this but think Capello has these guys believing in themselves.
