How to tell him I love him???

    I'm with boyfriend five months now, he said I love you after a couple of months. I was just out of a messy relationship, he knew this and how hurt I was. He was AMAZING, really patient with me and let me take things at my own pace. I guess rather than having a "love at first sight" chemistry we've kind of grown together and I really see us as having a future. He said he loved me after three months, when he said it he said he didn't want to scare me off but he'd been wanting to tell me for ages. I couldn't say it back because I didn't mean it, but I knew how my feelings were developing.
    Anyway, I want to tell him I love him because I know I do! And here is the ridiculous thing. He came over last night to help me put up my tree and I knew when I saw him fixing my lights that he was the one for me. I know it sounds ridiculous but he was so lovely helping me out, even though he HATES fuss at Christmas he made a huge effort for me, bringing me Christmas chocs etc.
    Here is the problem-he has just left for a weeks' holidays. He kissed me goodbye and went and won't be back for a week. I am DYING to tell him I love him but I don't want to do it over the phone which would be rubbish. I don't want to just blurt it out when he comes home from hols either, but should I pick a place and time? Would love guys advice pls.
