Library ban for 'pungent body odour' man

Library officials in Leicestershire have banned a regular reader from their building following complaints about his "pungent" body odour. The council said they were forced to act as visitors left Wigston Library when Stuart Penman, 27, arrived.
Staff said they have advised him about his personal hygiene, but it had not improved after a year.

Have you ever been banned from a library, and why.

    Me - never!

    Never banned.

There was a homeless guy smelling of booze (and just in general) in Deansgrange library the other day. He was just snoozing, not bothering anyone and considering how cold it is outside, I think it's nice that they left him, despite the smell.

    Badly-Drawn Boy?

Now I can add pungent body odour to the charge sheet along with shit music and silly hat.

I only got banned from a library after they sent a man in a van round to my house when I was a kid. They wanted some books back that were 6 months overdue.:(

    I then joined another library:D

Good, if your not going to wash, don't be surprised if people don't want you near them.

Just remembered that I have a book I borrowed in 1974, I don't think I'll return it now! Dread to think what the fine would be. :)

My brother punched me endlessly and I shouted a loud profanity at him.

    I was kicked out

I found an old library book from 30 years ago in a house I was working on.

It said on it that the overdue fine was 1p a week.

Which works out about 50p a year, or £15/€19. Not as much as you'd think. I'd imagine with inflation, there must reach a point where the fine actually decreases over time.
