    how long is your set when doing a pub gig? I can cover around 2 hours is this enough?

    we always aim for 2 hours but always end up doing 2 1/2. but 2 hours is enough

    If you are doing covers 2 hours is a good time,
    If you are playing your own songs I wouldn't go much over 45mins unless you have a decent fanbase that know your songs because no matter how good you are people get bored a bit if they don't know the material.

    You are better off keeping it short and snappy so people will want to see more of you when you finish up instead wishing you off the stage half way through

    It would depend on the type of gig. If you're the only band playing then having a 30 minute set list isn't going to be much good. By the same logic if you are one of three bands being squeezed into a two hour slot, playing an hour long set would be seen as overkill.

    I would contact the organiser or promoter of the gig and establish how much time you have and work out a setlist based on that. If you go over time for some reason then simply cut out the last song or something.
