Has anyone seen Battle Royale (Japanese movie).

I love that movie and can't find it anywhere (DVD or download).

If you've seen it, whats your opinion?

    Thanks I'll check it out.

Was going to watch the second one, but maybe not anymore.

Same situation as the sequal to Donnie Darko, S.Darko (which was pure sh**e)

I must be the only person on this planet that did not like that film.

OP, saw it in Laser on the St Andrews street. If memory serves it is distributed by a company called Tartan films.

A brilliant film. The shot with the picture at the very end is excellent. It couldn't have been done better. In fact I might dig up the DVD and watch it tonight.

It is not for the squeamish or the politically-correct, I'll say. There's a scene near the start in which the kids are shown, in no uncertain terms, that it's not a game.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Love this film. So so good. No need for a sequel to it though.

    My favourite part is
the girl who gets shot on the mountainside with the megaphone so that everyone can hear her in pain. Sick but oh so great.

Yeah, avoid it at all costs. I couldn't even finish watching it.

The first is an absolute masterpiece of course, made all the better by featuring Takeshi Kitano.

+1, has to be seen to be believed. There must have been uproar when it was first released as there are some shocking political ideas expressed in it.

Why does that not surprise me? I'll just completely avoid it and pretend it doesn't happen. Problem solved!
