I played in the loft last night and have to say i was confused  the game was advertised as a €40 double chance game and changed on the night to a €40 freeze out  the clock was suppose to be a 20 min clock and was a 17min clock  and the first player out was allow to buy back in. I feel this was an absolute joke, as the player was aloud to sit back into the same seat. a lot of players in the tourney we very unhappy with this decision but it seem to be the td say was final ,
if this player had knocked me out after buying back in id had knocked him out :D:D ,freeze out for me re-buy for him.WTF ????

Also they had an early bird chip that was given to players at any stage they arrived into the club :confused::confused:

i have to say it was my first time in the club i was impressed with the surroundings, very clean and very comfortable. unfortunately the decision to change the game and allow players to buy back in, in a freezeout would stop me going back again.

Also as a non smoker i thought it was disgrace that players were aloud to smoke inside the club at the area where food and drinks were being prepared. This club has been recommended to me by a friend of mine who has played at least 3 tournaments there, and told me it has been brought to the attention of eddie walsh the manager of the club that players are smoking in the club and only for me to see eddie himself smoking in the club last night.

I would like anyone from the loft to come on and give me reason to come back and play .

    Hi Ballbags

I am sorry to hear you did not enjoy your night last night.

Regarding the Double Chance we decided to change it as some players last week were a little confused by it and other players stated that they enjoyed the FO better. I ommitted to update the thread with the schedule and will do so asap.

Regarding the re-buy. This is The Loft Bike. It is a little different and it was the players who asked for its introduction. There is only one bike each night and its just a bit of fun.

The Clock is changed as we aware that people do not want to be in a tourney all night. The current clock is now getting the tourneys finished by 2.00am and players (lucky enought to make the final table) are happy with the clock, large stack and finishing time. This has also been a result of the large numbers we are getting for the games.

The Early Bird is being given to all for the first week as a lot of players are unaware of it. This eb after 8.30 is stopping next week and we were advising people this week in the club and by text.

We will continue to keep an eye on the back door for the smokers. We had plans to have the roof decked out and a heated terrace with tables to be put out but the weather is hindering our plans and hopefully we will have it done as soon as the weather permits.

If you would like to persoanlly give me a call at 0871300618 I would be happy to discuss this further with you

    Regards

    Eddie Walsh

Eddie i would just like to say that you only changed the game on the night

and you are still advertising wens game as a €40 NL Hold’em Double Chance
    freezeout as of today ?

and as for the bike:eek:: sounds like a load crap tbh never heard of it or has any of the guys that i know that play there :confused:

i take it that this week it was the first time it was done ??

or was it because the player in question who it was given to is a dealer who works with you and plays with you ??.

As for the smoking i take it you your wife and nigel wont be smoking in the club any more along with any of your players ?

I played there for the first time last Sunday and I did learn that the 1st player out could rebuy. Seems to be a bit of a tradition with the locals so I don't have a problem with it.

Place looks great and everyone was very welcoming. Good food provided at the break and drinks service was good too.

I liked the game structure and when it got a bit push/fold Eddie repeated a few levels at the request of the players at the final table.

I'll be heading down to the game tonight and would recommend it if you like a decent game.

Agree with Gorrrr. I've been to the 'New' Loft twice now, enjoyed both games and found the hospitality top class.

I never like it when a newbie registers on Boards and then proceeds to attack someone or some club. It smacks of a competitor having a go TBH.

Yes I'm sure Eddie will make a few tweeks here and there but the games provided by the Loft are top class and it's a nice place to play.

I played this game and was sitting at the table when this happened. It didn't bother me and there wasn't a single complaint from any player at the table when it happened. It came up in conversation with some of the players during the break but certainly none of them seemed to be put out by it when I was chatting with them anyway.

Also they had an early bird chip that was given to players at any stage they arrived into the club :confused::confused:

I arrived a little late myself and was pleasantly surprised to rcieve the EB. I asked the TD about it and he said that for the 1st week they are giving it to everyone just because the club has only re-opened and a lot of players are not aware of the EB yet. This seemed reasonable to me.
i have to say it was my first time in the club i was impressed with the surroundings, very clean and very comfortable. unfortunately the decision to change the game and allow players to buy back in, in a freezeout would stop me going back again.

I can see your point but is it really that big a deal. I think so long as this bike is restricted to perhaps the 1st or 2nd level and restricted to just the 1st player out then no major harm done imo. If I drive out to naas to spend my night playing a poker tourny and then get busted within 20 mins I'll gladly accept the option to get back into the game insted of having to get back into my car and go home after just 20 mins of play. I must say... this really wouldn't bother me so long as it's restriced as above

I cant comment on this as I did not see anyone smoking inside the club. I'm not just a non-smoker but am an anti-smoker:mad: I would have massive issues with anyone smoking inside the club especially around the food preperation area. But as I said... I did not see anyone smoking inside the club. I did however find it irritating that the door to the smoking area was being held open by some people who were outside smoking. "You're already outside in the cold... just close the door so that the rest of us inside don't have to feel the draught!"

In general I think the club looks very smart and is kept clean. The players there are very friendly and welcoming. The game I played was €40 freezeout including €5 reg. For my €5 I had a good structured game, free tea, coffe, minerals and bottled beer if I wanted it and hot food at the break. For €5 I just cant complain.
