i have a sky box in room a
it has a loop from the back of the box to room b
both the loop and the feed from the box to the lnb have joiners in the attic (f connrctors) hand tight
i wish to put the sky box in room b
i connected the feed from the lnb to the box via the loop
now i have the sky menu
when i select an item from the menu i get a no satellite signal message
when i returned the box to room a everything is ok
    where am i going wrong
    thanks in advance

You will need to run a second cable from your lnb directly to room b. The loop out will not give you a signal.

i have the feed to the lnb direct from the box using part of the loop out, joined by f connectors an a straight joiner.

As my friend says you must use cable directly from LNB spare out put to the receiver box, you cannot join with any other cable.

Edit:, just re read your first post, if you are connecting the existing dish feed, ie completely moving the box from one room to the other then you may have a connection problem. Is the cable connected directly to the box with a screw on F connector without using a wallplate?

you are correct tony, it was a bad connection where i joined two pieces of cable, it is now sorted.
i have a sky box in one room,
a bush freesat hd box in the other
so if tomorrows weather is ok i will have a uhf feed alongside the freesat box
so hopefully a few happy nights, as i now have the old girl and her soaps in another room.
