I could get a food blender/processor or Kindle for Christmas. I think I'm going for the blender. What would you advise? I'm cooking for four. Do you have a favourite brand? Do you use your blender or does it just sit there looking at you?

I have said it before but the Braun MR5500HC set is the best value in blenders.
It has both large and small bowls and the stainless handblender attachment + more.
Small and compact fits in cupboards easily and will do 99% of blending tasks.
