So I applied for a job in England earlier, and got an automated response back saying that they had automatically make an iprofile profile for me from my CV, and to log on and correct the profile.

I logged on to it and changed a couple of sections that were wrong. Might fix it properly tomorrow.

Just wondering if anyone has used it before and is it any good for finding jobs? Is is safe having all your info on it?

it wasn't a job offer. it was only to get your details so they can put it into the iprofile crap

LinkedIn is the best bet for this kind of thing as far as I know.

    I am an SAP contractor.
All the contractors I know hate iprofile.
If you get a message from iprofile when you apply for a job it means the agency that advertised the job is using iprofile to process the cvs they receive instead of a real human.
I strongly suggest you unsubscribe immediately.
They take your cv and rip it apart to try to populate their own cv format. This wouldn’t be a bad thing if the end result looked anything like your original cv.
Everyone I know who has tried to manually change their iprofile back to something that looks like their cv has found it overwritten with crap within days.
Worse still they send your rubbish profile out to lots of other agencies.
I strongly suggest you unsubscribe from any agency that uses iprofile.

Any agency that can’t be bothered to read your cv when you apply for a job is unlikely to be the type of agency you want to work through any way.
Instead I suggest you find a quality agent willing to give you a personal service and find you a quality job.
Good luck with the job hunt.

Thanks man. I haven't even looked at it since. Ya, it was an automated thing.

    Hey all,

I have just joined iprofile and I thought great i'll do up an online line CV and and can send link to employers........

Not that easy I mailed it to myself just to see what an employer would receive

Oh yes there is a link :) but its a link for the employer to join up so they can see my CV

Not a hope in hell that they will waste there time joining up just to see my CV

Wish I looked for this tread first, Learned my lesson I'll now consult Boards first before I join more sites
