I'd go for Heymans v NZ. Brilliant solo effort. Im surprised Trinh-Duc's one isnt there.

I'm not sure If I set that poll up properly so if it's hiding the results from everyone then could one of the friendly mods fix that for me.

Heymans for me as well. Incredible try.

Hairydonkey vs us is what I went for, what a try.

    I picked Heyman's, great run.
Russia's try deserve's a mention though, nice run by the number 6.

yep i went for hardinoquay too.

the defence was good for that try, yet they still walked us back from inside their own half.

nonu's against australia was very good. sivavtu is some player, he must be one of the most creative players around

    Harinordoquy vs Ireland for me.

    A brilliant team try.

Why are the poll results hidden btw?

It would have to be Kearney for me - really nice handling and great finish. Nonu would be there too but not for that try but his fantastic one against the Aussies in the Tri-Nations on the 19th Sept. last - see video here:

About 5 mins into video and near end of match. Incidentally, Cory Jane also scored a superb try in the match. :)

I am going to complicate the matter, but I think it would be a good idea to have
an individual try and a team try award. In that case for me Willams(ind) and Harryordinary(team):D

Harinordoquy for me, love the decisive play from the French.

The video starts right early on when they break through the 10 channel as if O'Gara isn't even there, very scary stuff.

Yes, i agree. Harinordoquy for the team try most definitely. That try is just phenomenal. Individual try? Heymans probably, but i'd need to think about it.

i voted for nonu.but my real try of the year wasnt listed.
its this one from conrad smith.(kids notice how the defenders dont know which way your going when you carry the ball in two hands)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jnbc4wAddKI

Fourie's vs the Lions is a real team-try.
How to break down a very solid defence patiently and working an overlap culminating in pure strength and determination to touch down in the corner.
    Class rugby.

Muliaina's try is the best one in my opinion.

I dont know if this has been posted already but they have put 15 candidates up for a vote of try of the year.

    Linky

Personally I think number 14 is the best,

What you reckon for winner then?

Has to be Heaslip or Clerc's solo effort against New Zealand. Love the NZ commentators in absolute shock!:D

Edit: Scratch that, it was Haymans! My bad.

I'd go for Heymans v NZ. Brilliant solo effort. Im surprised Trinh-Duc's one isnt there.
Same here, he beat 4 NZ defenders to get in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 723 ✭✭✭finlma

For pure individual skill it has to be Heyman. He single-handedly beat 4 defenders from one of the best defences in the business. Best team try would have to be Harinordoquy.

The defence for Williams try was awful so it takes away from it a bit - good speed however.

A J4 team would have tackled the Russian number 6 better.

    Thanks for the merge boss.

Has to be Heyman's imo - while Harinordoquoys against us was fantastic, Heyman left 4 AB's for dead.

I decided to go with Leinster and Irish bias and vote for Jamie Heaslip. Great pace and step, left French full back for dead. Not often you'll see a number 8 absolutely skin a full-back like that with a couple of other backs trying to track back being done for pace by him too...99.999% of 8's in world rugby would have tried to go through the player there.

exactly and its not often you see that happen

I'm going to vote for Alexander Yanyushkin simply because it would be great to see a player outside the top echeleons of international rugby win it.

Tough choice between team and individual efforts, but I plulmped for Heymans with Harinordoquy and Heaslip tied for second. I'm unashamedely biased towards the letter H.

I voted for Harinordoquy v Ireland, great try. Any chance of seeing the poll?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 620 ✭✭✭NotWormBoy

Individually, Heymans - for a team effort, Harinordoquy.

Overall, I'd say the Harinordoquy try. Some of the offloads/passing near the right touchline was great stuff, then for it to go all the way back across against what was a good defense... marvelous stuff.
