Depends on total you will be spending on both, phone and ipod touch.

i will go with Iphone 3gs and battery is not bad as it used to be.

2 hours of music , 1-2 hrs of call, 1-2 hours of emails and net and other playing around, i usually have 30% left before i go home. so why carry 2 things when can have one.

Getting an iPod will only make you want an iPhone.

If you don't mind the monthly bills get the iPhone.

Otherwise after about a week you will end up with the iPod Touch and a new Nokia (and probably a new contract) just wishing you had an iPhone.

The iPod touch is brilliant and your battery will last well and if you know of lots of free wifi spots where you hang out you'll not miss the phone functionality. An 8gb touch is 'cheap' and I use it most of the time and my nokia is now just for calls and is pathetic in comparison. That way you can wait on the upgrade until a good iPhone deal comes out maybe with the more competition next year. Then if you do get one you can use the touch for play and music and never worry about battery saving on your iPhone. The iPod touch weighs nothing so you won't know you're carrying it.

Had a Touch and separate phone and as good as the Touch was, it just made me crave for the iPhone (all in one) even more and eventually I caved and got the iPhone! Learn from my mistakes :D

Agreed. I just couldn't wait for my upgrade on VF next Feb and it gives me the option to wait to see if O2 and VF try and compete (we can all hope against experience).

Get the iphone and you won't look back.
