I'm planning on bringing my 2.5 year old son to see "Up" this weekend. He loves Toy Story and watches it again and again. Just wondering if anyone has any feedback on Up, if it is good for small kids.

Seriously seriously good movie. Great for kids but there's loads in it for Adults too. The first 20 minutes are an absolute masterclass in storytelling without dialogue.

It's a great movie. As mentioned above the first 20 minutes really is top drawer.

I'd imagine most of it would go straight over the head of a very small child though. Quite emotional in parts with a little bit of what they seem to call "peril" these days.

But well worth the cinema ticket.

You will enjoy it but I am not sure the child will

Brought and 8 year old and a 3 year old to see it recently, the 8 year old though it was brilliant as did I but the 3 year old wasn't really interested

We went to see the 3D version and I think it was just cos she didn't want to wear the glasses, maybe things might be better for small kids without 3D

Up is an enjoyable film but i'm not sure about a kid that young. He might enjoy the dogs in it though!

Well thanks for all the feedback. We both went to see the film today. It was a little bit scary for the little guy at times especially when the dogs were getting cross, but he stayed quite all through and watched intently. He seemed to like the flying house and all the balloons, and also the first part with the storks. I think something more like Toy Story would have been more his thing but glad we went anyway.

I agree, it isn't really a movie for very young kids.
In my opinion its also over-hyped, great movie and storyline don't get me wrong, but definitely not movie of the year. For me it lacked something I can't quite put my finger on.

If he's 2.5 he'll definitely love it. It has a dog and a funny-looking bird, and it's very bright and cheerful.

I thought it was a decent kids film.

Would second that. Don't know if there'd be enough going on for young kids, then the younger kids at the cinema seemed happy enough. WallE would beat it for me.
