Imac i7Quad/ Logic Studio 9 or Cubase 5?

    Hi all
Been shamefully quiet on the music front these last few months and lost a bit of my mojo but there's nothing like a brand new bit of gear to re-ignite the inspiration eh?
Here's the deal: just ordered one of the gorgeous new imac i7 quads with 4gbs ram biggrin.gif(will bang another 4 into it, not from Apple though). I will need a new audio interface and am 80% in favour of the Apogee Duet but the Presonus Firestudio Mobile is causing a lingering doubt because of its extra connections and bundled Studio One Artist software.
I currently run a PC DAW with Cubase SX3 with various bits and bobs and cannot decide between updating to Cubase 5 or going with Logic Studio 9.
The easiest route is Cubase (approx €180 to upgrade) but I've read it's not supported under Snow Leopard and performance is sluggish.
On the other hand Logic is roughly double that price but performance will probably be better.
    What say you?
    Thanks
    J

Logic all the way, you could start of with Express if money's an issue.
On the interface side, depends on your I/O needs. The pre's and conversion of the Duet will be streets ahead of the Presonus though.

If you go with Logic you don't need the extra Ram as logic can only use up to 4 gigs at the moment.

Cubase compatability updates for Snow Leopard and Windows 7 are due mid December.

A sequencer is only as good as the person using it. Providing the updates fix the performace issues I'd stay with Cubase. Its cheaper, has native vst support and you know how to use it.

Thanks for the responses so far
I'm kinda looking to re-invigorate a lot of my stuff so
I'm leaning towards Logic, think going Express is a good idea.
If I go Logic a pal is interested in trying it out, is it possible to
load it on more than one Mac without affecting my license?
Will almost certainly go for Duet, don't need any more i/o at the
moment, any good deals on here in Ireland?
One last question, is it possible to use my old PC as some sort of
slave to the Mac (no jokes please) and use its processing power?
    Cheers
    J

You can only have it on one Mac (Logic).

I got a very good deal from Paul on my Duet.

I don't know about using the PC as a slave thing but I doubt you'd need it with the specs on the Imac i7.
