Would suggest you get a map of City, from tourist office and download same. You'll see that city is divided into districts, like Dublin's Rathmines, Cork's Mardike etc. So decide on a district. What I did was book an Apt.
It was a private one, so lot's room, for 2-4 people. Cost: E52 per night total. Was right next to main Underground line, a must in this city. Website was: nollendorf-apartments.de. Also, could look up Booking.com, are great for good deals. Anywhere along river Spree, is good as lots bars, etc. Also worth looking at Area/District up by Potzdamer Platz -lots hotels, bars etc. Great city, you'll love it, and the people. Very safe, and good prices.
